Foster Update

To read the previous posts about this kitten, click here and here and here.

We had bloodwork run this week for the kitten. It was a FIPV (DNA) test. The test came back negative on Friday morning. The lab says that in order to be able to diagnose a negative for FIP, we must do the same bloodwork for 4 weeks in a row and have a negative each time. Her next appointment for bloodwork is Friday.

If she is presumtively diagnosed negative, the question remains ... why does she have a distended abdomen? What is wrong with her?

The saga continues ... I will try to remember to get a new picture of her for the next update.

Paws crossed that she continues to test FIP negative, and that whatever is wrong with her, it's treatable!

Well that is great news. I hope the next test is negative too. We are saying lots of purrs for her. I have a kitten that is about nine months old that has a large abdomen like she looks like she is too fat. I just never worried about it. So I hope what is wrong with this kitten isn't much.

Sparkle ... thanks. I hope so too!

marg ... This one's abdomen was very firm at the beginning (though it has softened now) ... like she had eaten a great big rock twice the size of her. I hope your kitten's is nothing to be concerned with.
